Tejas and Cachina. Pisco and Morusa.
Ica, ancient, sunny. Its beautiful beaches will vie for your attention
with the Nazca Lines, the Vista Alegre vineyards or the Ballestas Islands.
Where to start will be a most difficult choice. This city, located on
the central coast of Peru, stands at just 300 kilometers south of Lima,
and at 1300 feet above sea level.
Its access routes are by land or air.
Taking the Panamericana Sur highway from Lima, you will be here in just
3 hours.
If you don't have a car of your own or you would rather not use it, you
have some options at your disposal, see our section Useful
Information.
By air you can make it in just 40 minutes.
Commercial airlines flying to the city of Ica are in our section Useful
Information.
There are also different Air Taxi services operating from Lima which fly
locally over the Nazca Lines. Ica has two aerodromes: one near Las Dunas
Hotel, 5km from the city. The other one is the María Reiche Neuman
aerodrome on the 47th kilometer of the Panamericana Sur highway in Nazca.
