Christ on the Cross, his face and
body darkened by time and smoke from the incense.
A temple, built in the mid XVI century, sheltering the image
of the Christ of Luren, which on the way from Spain to Peru
was thrown overboard and was adrift for days till it was found
intact. The Lord of Luren and its thousands of followers await
you to join them in the Easter walk on the third Monday of October. |

Three beautiful houses,
a feast to the eye.
The house of the Marquis of Torre Hermosa stands out for its
exquisite rococó facade carved in stone; it was home
to the Liberator. That is why it is also known as Casa Bolívar.
Casa del Valle, republican and majestic, a beautiful combination
of the most beautiful porch of carved stone and two exterior
large windows of fence and sombrero.
Finally Casa Mallqui, also known as Casa de las Cornucopias.
Fall in love with the plaster work, false columns and impressive
facade, to the purest rococo style. |

| A hunting scene, an
organ transplant, the hunting of a dinosaur. Only three of the
images carved in more than 30,000 stones (property of Dr. Javier
Cabrera). With a supposed age of 250,000 years, these amazing
stones are testimony of primitive life which would sum up the
origin of civilization before the Inca Empire. Visit them. The
museum is on the Ica Town Square. |
